Route Map

Great Langdale worth the drive just to see the Langdale Pikes catching the early morning light.

The path leading into and out of Mickleden - part of the Cumbria Way.

Rossett Pike dominates the Mickleden dale-head.

Glacial moraine at the head of Mickleden.

The footbridge over Stake Gill path to Esk Hause and Rossett Gill to the left, Stake Pass to the right.

It's right for me - following the Stake Pass route as far as Langdale Combe.

Pike o' Stickle and Mickleden.

Esk Pike, Great End and Allen Crags.

Zooming in on The Great Slab and Bowfell Buttress from Rossett Pike.

A little hazy and dull but nevertheless an impressive aerial view of Mickleden.

The Mickleden cairn.

Angle Tarn.

The view down Rossett Gill.

Another view of The Great Slab and Bowfell Buttress.

Not surprisingly views of Micklden dominate this walk.

Rossett Gill and Rossett Pike.

Pike o' Stickle and Gimmer Crag.

The south scree from Mickleden.

Great Langdale and the Langdale Pikes from Chapel Stile.
